Poll: Dodd Disapproval Ratings Staying High

U.S. Sen Christopher Dodd and his supporters have long maintained that the best way to bolster his sliding popularity is to focus on his public policy work.
But it hasn't seemed to help.
Fifty-four percent of the respondents in a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday disapprove of Dodd's job performance. That's better than the 58 percent disapproval rating Dodd garnered in the spring, but not as good as the 49 percent rating he got in September and much worse than the overwhelming support the 30-year Democratic incumbent enjoyed throughout much of his career.
